Possess a sufficient understanding of surface mount machine operations and demonstrate the ability to learn and retain the knowledge of all associated processes and details. Disciplines to learn include surface mount components and part types, machine and feeder setup practices, use of the surface mount computer, perform repeat or new jobs, and troubleshoot machine placement issues. Sufficient knowledge will be necessary on the semi-automatic and fully automatic screen printers and the stenciling processes for each. Must demonstrate satisfactory ability to recognize and solve poor print performance. Must acquire a sufficient grasp of the re-flow oven operation and demonstrate the ability to create suitable profiles for products and solve minor reflow problems. Required to conduct periodic maintenance on the SMT machines. A sufficient understanding of IPC-A-610 soldering standards for class 3, 2 and 1 is necessary to succeed. Must exhibit a desire to learn and improve.
Must be able to read and comprehend drawings, bill of materials and other provided product information. With learned skills and reason, complete the surface mount assemblies within a reasonable time, with little to no errors, with normal supervision.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be capable of hand assembly. May be required to use measuring tools, hand tools and power tools. Job assembly may require standing or sitting. May be asked to assist with assembly in other departments.
