Job Title: Lead Daycare Attendant
Department: Pet Care 
Reports to: General Manager
Effective Date: January 2025 
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt  

Job Summary: 
The Lead Daycare attendants play a pivotal role in ensuring pets receive the highest quality of care and attention during their stay at our Club. Leads support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the daycare room, providing guidance and direction to attendants, organizing the daycare attendants’ daily activities, and ensure team compliance with safety standards and PUPS protocols. Pet care includes play/interaction, feeding and ensuring access to water, providing medications as necessary, and cleaning up pet accidents after to ensure a safe, healthy, and sanitized space. 

Essential functions and responsibilities: 
  • Lead by example, supervising, training, and coaching attendants, and contributing to a positive and enriching experience for both dogs and members.  
  • Assign tasks and checklists to team members to ensure department and shift runs smoothly and all protocol and procedures are followed. Provide guidance and leadership to attendants, including training on proper handling, safety protocols, documentation, cleaning protocols, and customer service. 
  • Coordinate work schedules, breaks, and daily tasks among attendants. Train, correct, coach, and engage in the disciplinary process when necessary, with GM coordination. 
  • Support leadership with maintaining Club and department facilities including equipment, inventory items, kennel, feeding and laundry areas, and yard turf and fencing.  
  • Work closely with leadership to report any human or pet safety concerns. Perform audits for feeding and medication checklists, check-in forms, and cleanings checklists. 
  • Supervising dog day care groups; engaging the pups with enrichment and play activities. 
  • Routinely cleaning and sanitizing club areas; removing pet waste as necessary. 
  • Preparing meals according to specified instructions; ensuring access to clean water. 
  • Preparing and administering medications to specified instructions. 
  • Accurately and consistently tracking and logging pet activities such as feedings and medication administration. 
  • Monitoring pups’ behavior and activities for safety; reporting health concerns to other members of the team (General Manager and Member Services) 
  • Adhering to all pet and human safety protocols at all times. 
  • Assessing group and pup safety to prevent and/or respond appropriately to pup fights or behavioral conflicts. 
  • Communicating effectively with PUPS Members and Club Team Members. 
  • Professionally and positively representing PUPS by conducting yourself in a manner that is in the best interest of PUPS Pet Club, PUPS Members, and Club Team Members.

Qualifications:  
  • Ability to comfortably interact and handle dogs of varying sizes/weights, breeds, and in varying group sizes. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 
  • Ability to function well independently and at times stressful environment. 
Education and Experience: 
  • Customer service experience preferred. 
  • Pet care experience and or training preferred. 
Physical Requirements: PUPS Team Members routinely perform the following physical demands. All PUPS Team Members are expected to perform these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Stand and/or walk for up to 6 hours without a break. 
  • Kneel, bend, squat, and twist their body.  
  • Repetitively complete hand and arm movements; reach, grab, pull, and push objects. 
  • Perform duties in an environment with loud sounds from animals and smells from pet waste and cleaning chemicals. 
  • Lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance. 
Pay & Benefits:
  • Pay range is $18.00-$22.00/hr
